Four accountable desks, no fictional biographies

Institutional bylines tell readers which editorial function owns a page. Named personal bylines should be added only after a real contributor supplies and approves their identity.

Myth & Texts Desk

Reads ancient literary sources in translation and flags where traditions vary. It does not present poetry as archaeology.

Architecture & Material Culture Desk

Connects plans, orders and construction materials to museum objects and established architectural scholarship.

Earth Science Desk

Handles the physical mountain, weather and lightning using heritage and science-agency sources.

Editorial Standards Desk

Owns corrections, source review, publication dates, disclosures and the separation of evidence from interpretation.

Clarity about source, date and uncertainty

Source first. A museum label, primary text or science record should be reachable from the page that depends on it.

Category matters. Mythic, historical, archaeological and scientific claims are labelled rather than blended.

Corrections remain possible. New evidence or a changed institutional record can trigger review. Contact the standards desk with the page title and supporting record.
