Scope and independence
Olympus Atlas covers Mount Olympus, Greek mythology, ancient architecture, material culture and lightning. Editorial conclusions are not sold to advertisers, sponsors or institutions mentioned in an article.
Commissioned or sponsored work, if introduced later, must be labelled at the beginning of the page and may not override corrections or source standards.
Sources and verification
Writers begin with primary texts and current records from museums, heritage bodies, universities and science agencies. Secondary explanation is compared across reliable scholarly or institutional sources.
Every factual article links at least one principal record. Object titles, dates and uncertainty follow the holding institution unless a correction is supported and clearly explained.
Myth, history and science
Literary myths are presented as traditions attested in texts and images, not as literal reports. Archaeological claims require material or documentary support. Scientific explanations rely on current science sources.
When these categories meet—for example, Zeus and lightning—the page explicitly separates symbolic meaning from physical mechanism.
Bylines and responsibility
This demonstration release uses institutional desk bylines because no real individual contributors have been engaged. It does not invent author names or biographies.
The Editorial Standards Desk is responsible for site-wide policy, corrections and update dates. Real personal bylines may be added only with contributor approval and an accurate biography.
Corrections and updates
Correction requests may be sent to olympusatlas.editorial@gmail.com. Include the page URL, disputed passage and supporting source. Substantive changes should be reflected in the reviewed date; material corrections should also be noted in the article.
Routine language or accessibility improvements may be made without a separate notice when they do not alter meaning.
Images and rights
This package uses original commissioned editorial artwork and public-domain Open Access images from The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Each museum image is captioned and documented in the project README.
A public-domain status removes copyright restrictions on the object image but does not justify misleading attribution. Captions retain object title, date, institution and interpretive uncertainty.
